The craziness that is the fire islands!
I have been trying to capture hundred blades with my warrior the past three days. I wish I would have capped it when people were still interested in it. It seems that this level has really gone down hill. Hours for a monk, one monk always drops. Some times you can't even find a group. If this level is going to continue do stay this difficult either Anet needs to decrease the number of monsters in the level so henchmen can deal with it, or make 10 henchmen and a group of eleven plus increase the henchmens lvl to 24. This level is to hard to capture such a pathetic skill as hundred blades. I would unlock with faction, but I want it on my pve warrior.

you want to make the LAST storyline mission easier? it has to be hard. there has to be a feeling of achievment when you finish it. it is not there JUST so that you can cap hundred blades.
making it easier would make it a pointless anti climax. as it is it is far from impossible. i did it in a team of 6. two of those were healer henchies.
a not hard mission that is supposed to provide a sense of achievement should not be made easier

Have to agree with Charcoal Ann. Also, I don't even bother getting a group for that mission anymore. It is so darn easy with henches I am kind of stumped as to why you are having such a problem with it...

and it is not the last one ^^
Let's try titan's quest in Ascalon with a group of 4, you and 3 henchies lvl 5 against charrs lvl 24 and you will understand what "impossible with henchies" means ;-)

For what it's worth, Like all missions and most quests, Hell's Precipice is completed much more easily with a group of henchmen than with the average PuG. It's sad but true. I did it twice alone (playing a warrior and an elementalist) and many times with only 1/2 guildies. The only things you need are patience, pulling, targetting, and hit and run (or flee and rez if necessary).

It doesn't help with henchmen that much, there should have been a boss in the furnace with hundred blades. I made my warrior a victory is mine warrior that does the balanced stance and desperation blow, I have not a hard time to stay alive, but then again the burning titans has wild blow, and the fact that your almost always caught on fire doesn't help. I used to not have a problem with this level. But its just insanity to get half way through and have a random patrol get agro'd by Mhenlo while your not paying attention and cannot flee, cause the if you do the patrol camps the bodys.
If someone has advice on how to manipulate the henchmen and manuver through the mission then I will take it and try it out.

For what the skill is worth that youre trying to Capture, i think that it would be better to move it off of that mission and give it to you earlier since its basicalyl cyclone axe with a sword...... and i can get cyclone at ascalon after searing
But i do agree with the previous posters. IN NO WAY should anet nerf this mission. Its supposed to be hard for a reason, meaning that if you dont find somewhat skilled players or have good teamwork together, you wont finish the mission, end of story

I have never failed Hell's Precipice and I have used just henchmen with my ranger and my monk... I have a stance warrior but she's at RoF. I really don't need to bring a 3rd character there really since I already have 2. Other than that, I don't see what's so hard about the last mission... Just kill the Sparks first, then Burning Titans. When you have no Burning Titans (which have AE burn) just go kill each Necro titan one by one and kill each 2 that spawn (dont spawn like 6 duh) - I dunno, I never had trouble. But, it's all about controlling henchies.
